Chief Emuoboh Gbagi’s political career began upon his return to Nigeria, driven by a desire to bring progressive ideas from the developed world to his home country. He joined the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and became a delegate from Jeremi Ward 2, Ughelli South LGA, in 2014 and 2018.
Emuoboh’s decision to enter politics was motivated by his belief that he could make a positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens. He was inspired by the potential to create a more just, equitable and prosperous society through public service.
While his bid for a Delta State House of Assembly position in 2018 was unsuccessful, Emuoboh went on to hold several important positions in the government of Delta State. He served as Executive Assistant to the Governor on DESOPADEC (Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission) and a two time Special Adviser to His Excellency, Dr. Authur Ifeanyi Okowa the Governor of Delta state (May 2015 to May 2023) on DESOPADEC and then Youth Development. He also served as the Secretary of the College of Special Advisers, an association of all special advisers for Governor Okowa.
During his tenure in government, Emuoboh played a pivotal role in implementing various development projects and policies aimed at improving the lives of the youth and people of Delta State. He was instrumental in securing funding for infrastructure projects, promoting youth empowerment initiatives, and addressing the challenges faced by marginalized communities.
One of Emuoboh’s key achievements in government was his work on youth development. He recognized the importance of investing in the youth as a means of building a sustainable future for the state. Emuoboh implemented programs to provide education, skills training, and employment opportunities for young people.
His efforts to empower the youth had a significant impact on the state. Many young people benefited from Emuoboh’s initiatives, achieving their educational and career goals. His dedication to youth development helped to create a more inclusive and prosperous society.
